ARPA HCBS Grant Creates Local Opportunities
DHS AWARDS $55,230.00 TO IMPROVED LIVING SERVICES, LLC
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has awarded Improved Living Services, LLC $55,230.00 to help Medicaid participants safely and securely utilize technology to stay connected to health and support providers, family and friends, and important community resources.
This funding is part of a total of $17.3 million awarded to 69 organizations statewide. These grants are intended to improve Medicaid home and community-based services that help older adults or those who have disabilities.
This grant award will allow Improved Living Services, LLC the opportunity to create internet connected, multimedia supported, teleconference enabled computer workstations in their HCBS approved Learning Center. Medicaid recipients may coordinate services through their Family Care organizations to participate in the Learning Center where they will receive training to safely and securely connect with their health providers, personal support systems, and important community resources.
“If the last few years of pandemic have taught us anything, we’ve learned how devastating it can be to lose connections to those important in our lives. This especially holds true for the adults with special needs that lost their ability to communicate with their doctors, counselors, friends, family, and community resources that are important to them. This grant award allows us to create opportunities for our Learning Center attendees to learn how to utilize technology and the internet to participate in telehealth appointments, communicate with care teams and loved ones, and stay connected to community resources such as DVR, the Job Center, employers, and local businesses. These individuals will never have to feel alone or disconnected again.”
